Overview for the functions of the cadastre of Kriegshaber

The village Kriegshaber was surveyed at 1831 with the scale of 1:1000, all realties got numbers (in german Plannummer or Flurnummer) which were entered in black color, the number of the houses of the owners were entered in red.

The realty numbers stayed unchanged up today, however most of the numbers of the houses were changed in the following cadastres of 1854, 1867, and 1892. If a house was build between two existing ones the new number of the house got a number with a suffix of a fraction, e.g. if the new house was between house 60 and house 61, then the new number was 60 1/2. If a realty was divided, let say the original meadow with the realty number 73, then the parts got the numbers 73 1/2, 73 1/3, and so on, depending on the numbers of the parts. I write as a standard P#073 and P#073/2 a.s.o. The standard of writing the numbers for the houses is H#060, H#060 1/2 a.s.o. One example the realty P#073 was sold after the splitting, three parts acquired the catholic church foundation, which build on realty number P#073a the new church, another part got lateron the house for the priest or one part became a parkway. Another part of the splitting was sold to another man who build there his house (Erdt).

In order to compare other sources containing the number of the house such as church registers, you have to keep in mind the year, as the houses had mostly different numbers. The village Kriegshaber encreased in the 19th century very much, at 1800 we had 99 houses, at 1900 about 450, so a renumbering was used in order to get rid of the number containing fractions. At 1916 when Kriegshaber was incorporated into the city of Augsburg the original numbers for the houses were no more in use in order to address for instants a letter with post service, all houses got a street name and a number, on the right side even numbers on the left side odd numbers. When now a house was build between let say Ulmer Str. 140 and Ulmer Str. 142, then the new number of the house was Ulmer Str. 140 1/2, however if the new house was build behind the house Ulmer Straße 140, then the new number was Ulmer Str. 142a. There is a function available where the old house number before 1916 and the new address after 1916 is crossreferenced. Another function is available in order to find out the number of the house in 1840 and the number at 1892. Here you can search for e.g. H#030 and get all entries of the various cadastres.

There is another function which displays all houses which belonged to jews in the past. Kriegshaber had at 1800 about one third of the population jews. After 1848 when the laws were changed, the jews could settle in every town of region. Therefore the jewish population decreased. After the progroms at 1938 and 1943 the remaining jews who did not emmigrate lost their lives in Auschwitz of Piaski. Nowadays the jewish population are living in other parts of Augsburg.

There is another function which shows all houses of more general interest such as the farmers/ranchers, the churches, the school a.s.o.

Another good function is availabe where you can search for any word or number, let say Marstaller or P#073 or H#100 a.s.o. If you want to search for a word at any place then you have to enter e.g. %Zollhaus%, where % is the wildcard like * in DOS or Windows.

At this time (Jan-2013) all houses which exists at the date of incoporation into Augsburg at 1916 are entered into the database. However there are a big number of houses which belonged to Oberhausen or Stadtbergen before 1938 or 1957. These houses are only partly entered. It is not planned to enter all existing houses of today. The main reason for it that the number is to big, another reason is that the sourcers in the archives are only availabe up tp 1962 as far as Kriegshaber is concerned and about 1917 as far as Stadtbergen is concerned. Stadtbergen lost a lot of sources during World War Second. The third reason however is that I do not want to show details of persons who are living today. The information past 1916 is shown only with password that will be given only to people who are living today or at former days in Kriegshaber.
